Diogenis Olives engages in the field of processing, alteration and packaging of edible olives, headquartered in Ag. Panteleimon Chalkidiki Central Macedonia. This is an area well known for the quality of agricultural products, particularly olive.
The creation of Diogenis Olives is essentially the fulfillment of the idea, which our founders had,
when in the 1990s they began with the cultivation of two hundred acres of fields, in the area of Ag. Panteleimon to produce Chalkidiki olives, visualizing the utilization of mother earth’s potential for the development of our enterprise and of our country. Even today those lands are the main source of our production process.
Our philosophy is the high quality of production and standardization of our agricultural products.
With the exact same love, today, for the land and its fruits, we produce an expanded range of products, which we standardize at our modern processing plant at St. Panteleimon Chalkidiki. Our products are marketed throughout Greece and in major overseas markets.
The company has a Food Safety and Quality Management Systems ISO 22000: 2005 - (HACCP) and is considered one of the most modern Chalkidiki olives packers in the area.
The name "Green Chalkidiki Olives» (Prasines Elies Chalkidikis) has been entered in the 'Register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications' (PDO), in accordance with the Implementing Regulations of the European Union, as published in Official Journal of the European Union 2012.
Chalkidiki olives originate from the varieties 'Chondrolia Chalkidiki' and 'Chalkidiki' of the species Olea Europea.
Apart from their large size, green Chalkidiki olives are characterized by a robust and glossy skin of bright green – ‘green-yellow’ color, rich, firm and juicy flesh, a subtle fruity aroma and slightly bitter and spicy taste and the absence of greasy sensation, because of centuries of adaptation the trees have overcome to the particular soil and climatic conditions of the region, but also of cultivation techniques implemented by olive producers. Chalkidiki olives have a shape of a cylinder/cone, which ends up to a nipple.
Our olives are available in 4 types and the following sizes:

The olive fruit ripens in mid to late autumn and that’s when the harvest begins. The olives are traditionally harvested by hand, and the picking of olives is for centuries, a significant agricultural activity in many parts of the Mediterranean.
Olives and olive oil are a delicious source of antioxidants and contain substances, called polyphenols, that are believed to help us against cancer. Polyphenols give the olive its flavor and aroma. One of the polyphenols found in olives is considered to act as an anti-inflammatory.
One of the most beautiful myths in relation to the olive is that of the naming of Athens. According the myth, the king Cecrops decided to ask the gods for a city protector, and because two Gods offered themselves, the goddess of wisdom Athena and the sea god Poseidon, a competition was held between them as to who will provide the most precious gift to the city. Opponents went to the rock of the Acropolis,
where they met with the other ten gods from Olympus to rule on the dispute between the two gods, while Cecrops was present as a witness. First Neptune stood in the middle of the rock with his trident and gave a loud strike on the ground. Immediately a wave of salt water sprang, that formed a small lake named "Erechthiida" sea. Then it was the turn of Athena to present her gift and after calling for Cecrops to witness, she planted an olive tree on the rock, which sprang full of fruit. That tree was preserved for many years later. After the gifts of Athena, Zeus declared the end of the competition and told the other gods to judge which of the two gods will become the protector of the city. At the same time Zeus asked the opinion of Cecrops. Cecrops glanced around, but wherever he turned his head, he could only see salty sea water. But the tree that Athena had sprouted was the first that grew throughout the country and was at the same time a promise of glory and happiness for the city. Therefore Cecrops thought that the gift of Athena was most helpful and so she was given the sovereignty of the city.
In the Bible, in the book of Genesis, the dove that Noah sent from the ark returned with an olive branch as a symbol of peace, meaning the end of the wrath of God.
So valuable was considered the olive, that the prize for Olympic champions was a wreath of olive branches.
